Bolsena lake (in Latin: Lacus Volsiniensis / Lacus Volsinii) is a lake in central Italy formed over 300,000 years ago following the caldera collapse of some volcanoes belonging to the Volsini mountain range. It is the largest lake of volcanic origin in Europe.
